*** News Flash ***

The Town of Hiram received a tabulator to use for all State and Federal Elections. The tabulator replaces the wooden ballot box we have used in the past, it is an optical scanner which counts the ballot when inserted, which means no more counting ballots until the wee hours of the morning for the election clerks! The tabulator will be used only for State and Federal Elections for programing the tabulator is cost prohibitive for our local elections.

State law changed a few years ago regarding Absentee Ballots Requests - Absentee Ballots must be requested at least three business days before any election unless special circumstances apply this includes voting absentee in person. The voter must fill out and sign the special circumstances application themselves before a ballot can be issued.
